Ibis already had a carbon cyclocross bike in its portfolio with the Hakkalügi, but this was limited in terms of tire width. With the successor Hakka MX, much more rubber is possible in terms of tire width and dimensions. It fits 700C tires and 27.5 tires in the frame and fork. Fitted with Schwalbe Thunder Burt tires, the Hakka MX is quite aggressive and willing to take on challenging terrain.

The carbon frame no longer relies on 135 millimeter wide dropouts on the rear triangle; the axle now measures 142 millimeters. In terms of weight, the new frame has shed around 150 grams, so the frame should come in at just under 1000 grams, while the standard bottom bracket is T47 - so there is no pressed-in bottom bracket, just a threaded bottom bracket with no cracking. To give the rider plenty of freedom of movement, the frame is designed for internal routing of the remote of a dropper post. Speaking of cables: the frame is compatible with both mechanical and electronic drivetrains, whether with a single or double chainring. For those who like backpacking or everyday use: The frame can be packed with all kinds of bags and there are attachment eyelets for mudguards. There is a choice of black and red colors. The frames are expected to be available from mid-December and complete bikes from the end of January 2018.
