The Langkawi International Mountain Bike Challenge is taking place for the fifth time this year. Right from the start, numerous top bikers have made the long journey to Malaysia. An ideal race to polish up their account balance in the UCI world rankings and to pick up some generous prize money. The reason for the 25,000 dollar increase is as follows. The organizer wants to attract more local and regional riders who will compete in the new "Men Open" category and also have the opportunity to win prize money. The shift means that the Elite Men category will then only be reserved for national and international riders with a license.

The race is set for October 13-18. Registrations for the Langkawi International Mountain Bike Challenge are already being accepted.
