With her fourth place, German U23 champion Helen Grobert takes over the leader's jersey from Sweden's Jenny Rissveds. She had a persistent problem with her chain on the start lap and fought her way up from last place to eighth. Linda Indergand is part of a four-strong leading group at the start, which is then broken up by Moschetti. The Ukrainian Yana Belomoyna takes second place and Indergand rides in third place for a long time. Towards the end of the third of the four laps, Indergand loses ground.

Lisa Rabensteiner rides past Indergand and then Grobert too. Nevertheless, Indergand is not dissatisfied. "I had a problem in my knee with a strained tendon and couldn't train properly for two weeks. The knee held up and that's why I'm happy with fifth place," says Indergand.Ramona Forchini seemed to be in sixth place for a good half of the distance. But then her strength waned, she lost another four positions and ended up in tenth place. "It went well for a long time, I was able to ride consistently. But I ran out of energy at the end and then I also slipped up," explained Forchini.www.uci.ch
