For example, the tour to the Coaz hut beyond the comfort zone. Or the route to Achseli near Glarus, the perfect opportunity for e-mountain biking. Then there's the Portail de Fully, one of the great singletrail classics in Switzerland. Finally, for dessert: the little-known Medergen tour near Arosa. And for those who will soon be heading further afield: Ride shows where to get a taste for trails in the Azores.

The two background reports focus on racing - but from a completely new perspective. In a big story, Ride shows how individual riders without a team behind them can hold their own at the top of the world or try to get there. The result is a wonderful story away from the hype surrounding Nino Schurter. The other report focuses on him - but only indirectly. It is much more about Nino's father Ernst and his brother Mario. These two are well on their way to changing Tuscany for good.

Of course, bike and accessory tests are also part of Ride's August menu, as are the entertaining lounge and the large-format bike presentations. And what has been true of all previous issues of Ride is no different for issue 04/2018: above-average quality pictures, a lovely design and a varied lounge with lots of interesting and unusual news from the world of mountain biking.
