Stöckli gibt Gas auf 650b-Rädern
With the Morion RSC and the Morion RS Trail, Stöckli presents its first bikes with the new 650b wheel size. The Stöckli Morion RSC is designed for tough racing and is used by Mathias Flückiger in the Cross Country World Cup. With a low total weight of 9.4 kg, it will be one of the lightest fullys in the field. Suspension elements from Fox (front: Fox 32 CTD Factory, rear: Fox Float CTD Factory) are installed for 110 millimeters each at the front and rear, while the R1 Racing from Formula is used for the brakes. For the gears, Stöckli relies on XTR components from Shimano.
The Morion RS Trail is designed more for trail use with a dropper seatpost, more front suspension travel (120 millimetres) and wider tires. However, the total weight of 10.1 kg would also look good on a race bike. The gearing here is an X0 series from Sram on the bike.
A common feature of both bikes is the use of Textreme carbon fiber. The secret of this material is that highly modular fibers are transformed from their original round shape into a flat state. According to the manufacturer, weight reductions of up to 20 percent or more are possible while maintaining the same durability and stiffness.
Stöckli is also showing new, innovative approaches to frame construction with the two new additions to its portfolio. Above the rear wheel suspension, there is no joint between the chain and seat stays, instead Stöckli relies entirely on the properties of the carbon material.Thinning out the seat stays allows the desired flex to be built in and this design not only saves weight, but also has a positive influence on the rear suspension kinematics. Thanks to its friction-free characteristics, the Flex Pivot Point, or FPP for short, supports responsiveness and is 100 percent maintenance-free.
