Transalpes Ultimate: Leichtmetallsänfte
At the start of the marathon season, Transalpes is offering a lightweight version of its tried-and-tested all-mountain bike. This is based on the tried-and-tested four-link suspension with 115 millimetres of travel and the characteristic variable seat dome for improved climbing characteristics on steep climbs. Stefan Gruber and his team in Zwillikon, Zurich, consistently build this with lightweight but fully practical components. Transalpes saves a lot of weight with the wheels. In order to achieve the record-breaking low value of 1190 grams for a disc brake wheelset, Transalpes combines the ceramic-mounted DT 190 hubs with Revolution spokes from the same company and the ultra-light ZTR Race rims from NoTubes. Combined with lightweight air suspension elements from Fox, the stylish and powerful Mini Pro disc brakes from Hope and a complete XTR drivetrain, the result is a bike that weighs a slim 9.7 kilos in the medium frame size. If it is supplemented with lightweight pedals, the total weight remains in single digits before the decimal point.
This high-quality equipment not only makes the bike light, but also your wallet. The Marathon Titanium Ultimate is available for CHF 8,590 from specialist dealers or directly from Transalpes in the Factory Shop and via the website.
