In episode five of the Fairtrail videos, Nevin Galmarini enjoys a hike with his family after retiring from top-class sport. Meanwhile, Nino Schurter is completing a training session on his bike and meets the Galmarinis. On a descent down a single trail, Olympic mountain bike champion Schurter makes way for the family of Olympic snowboarding champion Galmarini, who is walking towards him. "It's simply better with respect," says Schurter, standing next to the trail, pointing out the shared use of the trail as part of the Fairtrail campaign.

This lived coexistence characterizes Graubünden and is unique to this extent in the Alpine region. The fact that bikers and hikers are allowed to use the same paths is not stipulated by law in Graubünden either, but is desired and actively promoted by politicians and authorities. All trail users are equally responsible for the successful implementation of this practice. If everyone behaves considerately and gives each other space, it works. If a few play the "black sheep", everyone suffers.
