The cult brand Yeti continues to expand its successful Switch Infinity lineup. The SB5.5c is the sixth model with the unique suspension system and covers the all-mountain segment. The frame is made of carbon and has 140 millimetres of rear wheel travel. The rear triangle is designed for Boost 148 axles, as is the 160 millimeter suspension fork, which fits the new 110 hubs. The reason for Boost on the Yeti is also the higher stiffness of the 29-inch wheels, which is noticeable in better acceleration values and more precise steering maneuvers.

The geometry Yeti has chosen for its all-mountain bike is interesting. At 66.5 degrees, the steering angle is nice and slack, as is the seat angle, which at 73.6 degrees is on the slack side by today's standards. This also results in a shorter reach (horizontal distance from the bottom bracket to the center of the headset) with a longer top tube length - also more in line with earlier approaches. However, this is not necessarily a bad thing. Downhill in particular, this geometry results in a more balanced ride. It is therefore not surprising that important input came from Enduro World Series winner Richie Rude during development.

The high-modulus carbon frame and rear triangle are designed to be so stable that they can withstand several seasons of racing or many hard rides. In view of this and the complex Switch Infinity system, the weight of the SB5.5c frame is quite good at 2.7 kilograms. The rear dropouts work with the standard Thru-Axle systems and come with a direct mounting device for the changer. Furthermore, the frame is fitted with specifically shaped down tube protectors and the cables are all routed through the inside of the frame.

For the time being, the Yeti SB5.5c is only available as a complete bike in three versions: GX, X01 and XTR. Regardless of the configuration, all versions are equipped with Fox's highest quality shocks and forks. This high quality from A to Z doesn't come cheap: in the GX version, the SB5.5c from the cult brand is available for 6,759 Swiss francs. The X01 version costs just under CHF 1,000 more, and for CHF 11,309 you can call the bike with XTR equipment and Enve wheels your own. Yeti offers a five-year warranty.
