After the previous owners announced their intention to sell the Bell Sports Group (including Bell, Giro, Blackburn, VistaLite) back in April, they have now reached an agreement with the New York-based private investment company Fenway Partners. The New Yorkers are taking control of Bell Sports for around 240 million dollars and are already planning a merger with Riddell, the clear market leader in helmets for American football. According to Fenway Partners, this will create a center of excellence in head protection. Bell President Bill Fry will continue to serve as CEO of the merged product.
