The new Tigon combines the sensitivity of a steel spring shock with the adjustable progression of an air shock in the middle of the stroke and in the lower range. In 2005, the Cane Creek engineering team developed the world's first "Double Barrel Twin Tube" mountain bike shock, which offered a new level of external adjustability previously unavailable on mountain bike shocks. The twin-tube design also utilizes a larger volume of damper oil for improved suspension performance and reduced heat build-up. Twin-Tube technology lives on in the IL, Kitsuma and now the Tigon. In addition, the patent-pending Ramp Tube Technology in Tigon allows the rider to make quick and easy adjustments to increase liveliness, increase support or, conversely, improve the smoothness of the ride.

With a simple shock pump, riders can now tune the support of their coil shock by adding air pressure (max. 30 psi) to the ramp tube. This added air chamber increases the progression of the shock and gives all the mid-travel to bottom-out support you could want. With the ramp tube, the Tigon is able to offer 20 to 35 percent more progression than a typical steel spring shock. Nevertheless, the outstanding sensitivity of a steel spring damper is always retained and offers the most active suspension possible, regardless of the air pressure.

The Tigon expands the usable market for steel shocks by offering a more resilient solution for frames with Clevis and Trunnion mounts. The stiffening provided by the ramp tube, paired with the shock shaft, which has been moved to the center of the shock, ensures significantly better lateral stiffness of the shock.

Thanks to DB twin-tube technology, the Tigon offers independently adjustable high and low-speed compression and low-speed rebound adjustment. With the integrated tool, every rider can adjust the Tigon to suit themselves on the bike and in any situation.

Tigon is available now from Cane Creek dealers, distributors or direct from the factory in North America via the Cane Creek website and is covered by a two-year warranty. The Tigon is available in standard and trunnion mount sizes at a price of $899.99. As with all steel spring shocks from Cane Creek, the Valt springs are sold separately.
