Design award for bicycle helmet from Abus

Velo helmets are not generally regarded as an example of good product design. German manufacturer Abus proves that this is not necessarily the case. Its Urban-I city helmet received the prestigious Red Dot Design Award for its pleasing visual appearance.

After already performing well in numerous product tests, the Urban-I is now also earning praise for its design. The integrated rear light and the discreet but clearly visible reflector on the outer shell are unusual features of the helmet. Thanks to six different design variants ranging from elegant matt black to trendy checked patterns, the helmet suits a wide range of fashion requirements.

Officially, Abus will receive the award at the end of June. Afterwards, the helmet will be part of the exhibition at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, the world's largest exhibition of contemporary design.
