Dolomiti Paganella Celebrates the Start of the Cycling Season with an Anniversary

For the fifth time, the Paganella Bike Opening will take place in the Dolomiti Paganella from May 29 to 31, 2026. The anniversary edition is themed “Five Years of Madness” and offers a packed program of biking, music, test rides, brand exhibits, culinary delights, and side events. Among other venues, the event will be held at the Base Camp in Andalo, which, with its expanded stage and festival grounds, will serve as the setting for the weekend.

From a sporting perspective, the focus is on the extensive trail network at the Paganella Bike Park. Over the past three years, four new trails—Matrix Trail, Super Natural, Interstellar, and Duel Trail—have been opened. In 2026, another trail—the Top Gun—will open in the Fai Zone. It connects Seletta at 1,978 meters with Meriz at 1,425 meters, thereby closing the missing section and allowing riders to ride the entire descent from Cima Paganella to Santel/Fai on built singletrack trails.

The opening event also features an extensive musical program. On Friday evening, the band Graz’ie Mille—formed specifically for the anniversary—will perform on stage at Base Camp. It brings together musicians from previous Opening bands such as Klumzy Tung, Ivory Parker, and Air Rapide. Their repertoire ranges from hip-hop and freestyle rap to beatboxing, percussion, and organic techno.

Another concert evening will follow on Saturday at the festival grounds. The Trentino ensemble Orieste y sus Problemas will kick things off with a modern interpretation of traditional cumbia rhythms. Afterward, the eleven-piece brass and electronic group Bass Monkeys from Turin and Sicily will take the stage. The project builds on The Sweet Life Society, which already performed at the first edition of the Bike Opening.

In addition to trails and concerts, the program also includes various side events. In the Funny Olympics Area at Base Camp, several playful competitions modeled after Olympic disciplines are on the program. These include bike bowling, bike slalom, and other team challenges that are accessible regardless of riding ability. Participants have the chance to win prizes.

The Paganella Bike Opening is aimed at mountain bikers of all skill levels. In addition to the supporting program, the Brand Village offers opportunities to discover new products and test bikes.
