For its first shoe collection, Endura was able to draw on its own extensive experience in the bike industry as well as that of many top-class partners such as the Scottish Pentland Group and ergonomist Phil Burt. Last but not least, Endura was able to count on the invaluable feedback from Endura's mountain bike athletes such as the Athertons, Kriss Kyle and Harald Philipp.

The result is an interesting collection consisting of three different mountain bike shoes.

• The MT500 Burner Clipless shoe is a modern, high-performance trail shoe with a click system.
The MT500 Burner Flat shoe offers technical trail performance in sneaker style.
• The Hummvee flat pedal shoe is designed in a skate style and is perfect for biking and everyday use.

To make the shoe collection perfect right from the start, Endura meticulously scrutinized the most important criteria of the shoes: Fit, function and style.

Fit: To develop the right fit, Endura teamed up with British ergonomist Phil Burt and designed a unique EGM insole. The shoes are also available in a wide range of sizes from EU38 to EU47. Half sizes are also available if required.

Style: When it comes to style, the designers have struck a balance between modern technology and a classic look to create some fantastic looking shoes. All three shoe models are available in a wide range of colors and can be perfectly combined with the 2022 spring/summer collection from Endura - perfect for the head-to-toe look. Each model also comes with two different shoelace colors, one plain and one brightly colored.

The technology in Endura's kicks

StickyFOOT™ is the name of the special rubber compound for shoe soles designed to offer perfect grip. During the entire development process of the new mountain bike shoe collection, the focus was on the rubber compound of the sole. The specially developed StickyFoot™ rubber compound is specifically designed to meet the needs of modern mountain bikers: It consists of a unique mix of finely tuned ingredients that offers the perfect balance between pedal grip and durability.

The StickyFoot ™ rubber compound has been used on all Endura shoes. The sole offers maximum grip, adapts to the pins and fixes the foot on the pedal without sacrificing comfort. In addition, StickyFoot™ Dura guarantees a long service life, especially in the areas of the sole that are subject to greater stress.

The EGM insole from Endura was developed in collaboration with ergonomics expert Phil Burt. It maximizes comfort and power transmission in both MT500 shoe models with the following components: The Metatarsal Button is a slight elevation in the sole and helps to relieve pressure on the forefoot by spreading the big toe away from the others. Foot pain when pedaling is reduced.

Sole Stimulant: These small dots are strategically placed on the sole to increase the sensitivity of the foot. The coordinated muscle contractions that this stimulates give you an even
more direct connection to the bike.

Power Arch: The carefully profiled and contoured support supports the arch of the foot, improves pressure distribution and therefore ensures greater comfort and optimized power transmission.

The shoes in detail

The MT500 Burner Clipless shoe is a performance trail shoe with a click system. It combines a modern sneaker look with Endura's proven MT500 technology. The flex profile of the shoe has been specially developed to provide both support and control over the pedals. This is made possible by the combination of an EVA midsole and a reinforced nylon shank, which accommodates the cleat and provides stiffness.

The cleat box has extra-long rails to allow many mounting positions. This allows mountain bikers to position their foot exactly where they want over the pedal. A Velcro fastener at the upper end of the laces ensures that the foot can be secured from the outside, while the EGM insole provides support and security on the inside. In addition, the rounded heel cap with a non-slip lining provides a good grip.

The outsole consists of the StickyFoot™ Grip compound in the contact areas with the pedal, while the StickyFoot™ Dura compound is used for the tread in the heel and toe areas and provides excellent traction when pedaling. When biking, it often gets wet and muddy. The upper material is therefore smooth and easy to wipe clean. The lining is also lightweight and quick-drying. The shoes are available in different colors and reflect the color palette of the SS22 collection.

The upper is a combination of welded panels for a clean look and reinforced stitching where more durability is required. In terms of flex, this shoe is slightly stiffer than the Hummvee Flat as it's geared more towards riding than walking, but the multi-layer StickyFoot™ rubber sole provides enough flex and traction when there's a long push uphill. It's also equipped with an EGM insole for a particularly supportive and close-to-the-foot fit. This combination of features is ideal for flat pedal riders who like to ride long tours or really step on the gas on enduro trails.

The Hummvee flat pedal shoe is a bike-specific skate-style shoe that is perfect for both cycling and everyday wear. Despite its casual look and true to the Hummvee ethos, this shoe is designed for serious riding as well as everyday use. Comfort when walking and pedaling has been perfectly balanced in this shoe. The StickyFoot™Grip rubber compound developed by Endura ensures a firm grip on the pedals. The rubber compound closes around the pedal pins, locking your feet in place and giving you optimum control over your bike. When it comes to climbing the top of the trail for another run, the toe and heel profile has been designed to give you excellent traction when walking if needed. The entire inner lining and padding are lightweight and quick-drying.
