In their early days, e-bikes were held in low esteem as granny bikes. They got rid of this reputation thanks to sporty 45 km/h models and e-mountainbikes in particular. With the B-Turtle from inflatable tent manufacturer Gentletent, a product for the leisurely generation is now back on the market. Traveling with the B-Turtle doesn't really have much to do with adventurous bike packing. But a lot to do with comfort and style.

With a few simple steps and a little air from the pump, the B-Turtle can be converted into a nice sleeping dwelling for two - unless you have opted for the one-person version. If you lie down here to rest, you don't have to bend over as if you were crawling into a hole in the ground, as is usual with the tents that bike packers have with them. You lie down in the B-Turtle with your head held high and at a sleeping height of 73 centimetres you are still at a safe distance from high water, cold ground and short-legged wild animals looking for food. In the awning, you can get dressed in a comfortable upright position before letting the outside world see you in the morning.

But back to the hard facts: With the tent stowed away, the trailer has a footprint of 110 x 79 centimetres and weighs 29 kilos. In addition, there is the individual luggage, for which the entire tub is available. The tent forms the lid. And even when it is set up, you can still access the inside of the trailer.
In principle, it is certainly also possible to pull the B-Turtle with pure muscle power and a conventional bicycle. However, it would be difficult to cover a reasonable distance on a long or steep climb. However, with an e-bike and sufficient battery capacity, nothing stands in the way of a relaxed trip from lakeshore to lakeshore or from campsite to campsite.
