The Swiss downhill champions were due to be crowned in Saint Luc on Sunday. But things turned out differently on site. Heavy snowfall prevented training and the timed run on Saturday, and so the race was canceled on Saturday morning despite the weather improving.

The SCOTT-SRAM MTB Racing Team will be relying on the existing line-up in the coming seasons. Both Lars Forster and Andri Frischknecht have extended their contracts and will continue to accompany Kate Courtney and Nino Schurter for the next two years.

Yana Belomoina, the 2017 World Cup winner, is entering her ninth year with the "CST PostNL Bafang Mountain Bike Racing Teamn". The Ukrainian has therefore also signed with the Dutch racing team for the 2021 Olympic year. Her focus is on the Tokyo Olympics. She finished 13th and ninth in the Olympic cross-country races in London and Rio.

German mountain bike star Manuel Fumic is postponing his retirement by one year and will thus remain with Cannondale until the end of 2021. Among other things, he will once again race the Cape Epic with Henrique Avancini, who has signed with Cannondale Factory Racing until 2023.

Esther Süss is tireless. The former world-class Swiss cross-country rider wins the second "Appenninica MTB Parmigiano Reggiano Stage Race" in Italy. Dutchman Hans Becking won the men's race ahead of Tiago Ferreirea (POR) and Lorenzo Samparisi (ITA).

Some Swiss riders are getting involved in the Crankworks Festival in Innsbruck: Lucas Huppert jumps to eighth place in the slopestyle final. Anita Gehrig also made it to the grand final and ended up in eighth place in the dual slalom competition - a new discipline for the enduro specialist. Carolin Gehrig came eighth in the downhill.

It was a tough long-distance duel between the leading group of juniors and the strongest elite and U23 riders. In the end, the juniors once again had the upper hand. The U19 Swiss champion Dario Lillo won. The best elite riders were Konny Looser and Annika Liehner.
