Gehrig Twins look back on ten years of the Enduro World Series

With the opening of the Flem Mountain Lodge, twins Anita and Caro Gehrig have opened a new chapter in their lives and closed another one at the same time: the chapter of top-class sport. In their latest video, the two look back on a proud ten years of the Enduro World Series, from the very first historic race to podium finishes, wonderful memories of travel and friendships.

Anita and Caro Gehrig look back

From humble beginnings to podium contenders - the Enduro World Series has taken us around the globe. Looking back, we could never have imagined the adventures that lay ahead of us when we entered the very first Enduro World Series race in Punta Ala in 2013. We had just discovered this great discipline for ourselves and achieved our first successes in European races. When the Enduro World Series was launched, we knew immediately that we had to be part of it. It was our ticket to discover the world on two wheels.

When we were racing alongside our idols Anne Caro Chausson, Tracey Mosley and many other stars from various mountain bike disciplines, we were still writing our recipe for global success. But let's rewind ten years: we've competed in over 50 Enduro World Series races, achieving over 20 top 5 results and four podiums. Along the way, we have felt the pain of some serious crashes with broken bones. This has taught us the true meaning of fighting spirit and a love for the best trails in the world. And the best thing is that we were able to share this with friends, who we will continue to keep as our friends.

With our departure from the Enduro World Series, our passion for racing has not died. However, our curiosity about what there is still to discover has led us to a new adventure. In June 2022, we opened the Flem Mountain Lodge (a hotel) in our home town of Flims, Switzerland. It's a place where we combine our passion for hospitality and mountain biking. It is a change of paths and a farewell to our professional racing career, but an opportunity to discover even more in the future. Our life on two wheels will continue with selected races such as the Stone King Rally and the Swiss Enduro Series, and we have the chance to broaden our horizons with new experiences on gravel bikes.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of our supporters. You have made it possible for us to live our dreams! A special thanks goes to Norco, who have made it possible for us to run our own team and have supported us through ups and downs: Thank you for the last five years, we are proud of what we have been able to achieve together.

With this video edit from Louis Citadelle, we take you back to our past before we head into the future - there's some very exciting news to announce soon!
