Go for Gold: Sram builds World Championship parts

Every ounce of motivation counts in the battle for the world title - and Sram wants to give its athletes that with a world championship edition of the cassette and chain. The sprockets are resplendent in gold on the rear wheel - but according to the US component manufacturer, the parts have to come off the bike again after the race.

Sram is fitting a limited edition of cassettes and chains to its athletes' bikes for the Andorra World Championships. Sram is hoping that several riders who are competing for world titles with the US components will exchange the gold sprockets for gold medals. With riders like Nino Schurter or Aaron Gwin, this also seems extremely realistic.
