Similar parallels can be seen within the bicycle industry: Brake specialist Magura bought the Dutch suspension fork manufacturer Rond years ago, DT Swiss is expanding its range in a similar direction using its own resources and the derailleur manufacturer Sram has taken over RockShox (suspension forks), Avid (brakes) and Truvativ (components) in recent years. As a result, ever larger conglomerates are building up in the battle against industry giant Shimano, which only lacks suspension technology.
