For almost all athletes, the race in Schaan marks the end of a long and intensive season with the World and European Championships as well as the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Linda Indergand from Uri was once again able to deliver her best performance and celebrate the day's victory in commanding style. She also secured first place in the overall standings, crowning her magnificent season.

Frischknecht's triumph

The excellent starting position ahead of the final race prompted Andri Frischknecht to travel to Schaan directly after the marathon world championships on the island of Elba and compete again despite his tired legs. He said later that he got better and better as the race went on. In fact, he pulled away from the competition on the final lap and rode to second place behind Luca Schwarzbauer, securing the overall victory and one of the biggest successes of his career.

A great success!
