The project in Thusis is not comparable to the large trail centers in other countries. However, where other countries lack trails, there are plenty of them here in Switzerland, but they are often too difficult for beginners. According to co-initiator Johannes Nidecker, this is exactly where the Trail Center Thusis aims to close the technical riding gap between gravel paths and single trails. Both locals and guests can learn riding techniques and gain confidence on the practice area and in the skills area.

But the trail center between the Waldschwimmbad and Rheindamm should also offer advanced riders opportunities to improve their riding technique or simply have fun. The 3.5-kilometre single trail circuit can also be used for specific cross-country training, for example.

Municipality as operator
The project was created by the "IG Trail-Center Thusis", first conceived five years ago. The ideal location was found in the woodland near the Vita-Parcours Thusis, which is owned by the municipality. It is also the developer and operator of the center. As the initiator of the project, it continues to support the municipality in its implementation and communication.

It is not yet possible to predict exactly when the trail center will open. Its construction depends on the snow conditions, even though little to no snow is generally expected on the valley floor.
