Junior Anja Grossmann, reigning European cyclo-cross champion, lives up to her role as favorite and wins the race with a commanding lead of almost two minutes over Marusa Serkezi from Slovenia. Lewin Iten wins the bronze medal in the junior category.

The Swiss national mountain bike team also impresses in the juniors at the European Championships in Melgaço (Portugal). Junior Anja Grossmann wins confidently ahead of Marusa Serkezi from Slovenia and Barbora Bukoska from the Czech Republic.
In the juniors, Swiss rider Lewin Iten rides to third place behind the new European champion Anatol Friedl from Austria and runner-up Federico Brafa from Italy.
