Landowners repeatedly claim that they can be held liable for accidents on "their" paths. This is not true. In principle, an injured person has to bear the damage themselves in terms of personal responsibility. Any liability can only be assumed restrictively, especially in the case of works such as a bridge. Here, the owner could be held liable if the structure was faulty or poorly maintained.
