The Col du Lautaret is probably familiar to all road cyclists. It also has a lot to offer mountain bikers, especially with the long single-track descent down to Briançon.

The Grand Aréa towers high above Briançon and can be ridden by mountain bike. This route takes you down the steep southern descent, combined with the Col du Granon.

The area around Col Galibier is legendary among cyclists. Mountain bikers combine the Tour de France pass with Lac de Cerces here to create an impressive loop.

Mount Autapie towers high above the Val d'Allos and offers a relatively easy but incredibly spectacular single-track descent to Colmars.

The Col de Champs connects the Val d'Allos with the Val d'Entraunes. A world-class downhill run awaits on the west side.

The Baisse de Prenier is located at the Col d’Allos, right at the entrance to the Mercantour National Park. The descent to Allos offers an S2 thrill ride.

The Cime de Chamoussillon is located in the heart of the Val d'Entraunes, right on the border with the Mercantour National Park. The tour offers exceptionally beautiful scenery and a fantastic downhill trail.

This varied mountain bike loop on the sun-drenched slopes above Saint-Pons offers a perfect blend of relaxed uphill pedaling and a technical challenge on the descent.

The name says it all for the Chemin Horizontal high above Barcelonnette. This classic mountain bike route in the Ubaye Valley is particularly notable for its final descent.

The Gorge de Daluis is known for its red earth. Further up on the southern flank of the Dôme de Barrot, mountain bikers ride right through the middle of such red earth sections. An extraordinary spectacle.

The Col de Champs is one of the legendary Tour de France passes, but also offers great trail descents. In this version, this leads to a great combo on the north side of the pass.

Monte Zugna is one of the great classic trails in Trentino. High above Rovereto lies an area where dinosaur tracks can be seen along the trail. They are part of this Zugna variant, which features a varied, spectacular descent to Serravalle all'Adige. 

In the countryside around Lucca in Tuscany, a group of mountain bikers has created some truly unparalleled trails in the forest. They have renamed the area on the northern side of Monte Faete the “Lucca Trail Valley.” And for good reason!

From Monte Ghilardona, there are two downhill trails that mountain bikers have created and maintained, which can be ridden and reached via a pleasant paved climb.

In the hinterland of the nature reserve surrounding Lago di Massaciuccoli, there are a few beautiful trails that can be combined into a varied loop.

At the Reka resort in Ortano, mountain bikers are a regular sight. Right around the hotel bay, you can combine several trails into a short but challenging ride. 

From East to West: Even at the northern tip of Elba, there are fantastic trail rides that connect two coastal regions on opposite sides of the island. This route includes some of Elba’s classic trails.

The island of Elba is quite narrow, making for great MTB routes from one coast to the other. This route connects the south and north coasts with challenging downhill trails.

The northern tip of Elba is relatively unknown, but it has plenty of trails to offer. Here you’ll find some amazing MTB riding away from the crowds. An optional stop: the picturesque Laghetto delle Conche.

Lacona Bay is known as a hub for mountain biking on Elba. Right along the coast, there are two fantastic trails here that can be combined into a great loop.

Monte Fonza is a fantastic mountain offering stunning views on the south coast of Elba, featuring an amazing single-track descent to Lacona. 

The Neviera Trail, high above the northwest coast of Elba, is a highlight for fans of technical riding. It winds along the slope over numerous rocky sections and can be easily incorporated into a challenging enduro loop.

The Swabian Alb is known for its challenging trails. In this version, the difficulty level is almost overwhelming. You start in Bisingen and cross the Zollernalbkreis. The return trip is then made by train.

The McDonald Trail near Geislingen is a superbly designed bike trail, incorporated here into a challenging loop.

Many of the Kreten trails in the Swabian Alb are very easy to ride. Not so the trail leading from the Reussenstein ruins. If you're up for a challenge, this is the place for you.

There are numerous single trails around Aalen, but you have to know how to combine them effectively. This route includes everything you need to ride in Aalen.

In addition to the classic Aalen Trails route, there is a counterclockwise route that follows some of the same trails.

The flow trails at Grosser Feldberg near Frankfurt are among the longest in Germany. They consist of individual sections that can be easily combined into a fantastic mountain bike tour.

The Steinkopf transmission tower near Frankfurt is the starting point for the Handkääs Trail, among other routes. This trail can be easily incorporated into a loop hike along the historic Limes fortifications.

Heubach is a mountain biking hotspot in the Swabian Alb. The well-known trails are located right around the town. But there are also great trails in the surrounding countryside that can be incorporated into a longer route.

Waldstetten is located not far from Schwäbisch Gmünd and offers numerous great single trails. A loop with a surprisingly high proportion of single trails.
