Alp Clünas, Scuol

The route over Alp Clünas is one of the great trail classics in Scuol. In this version, the well-known route into Val Tasna is extended and supplemented with the chairlift ascent in Ftan.

Description

The tour starts at the mountain station of the Motta-Naluns cable cars. You can also ascend from Scuol under your own steam, for example via Ftan and Prui. From the mountain station, follow a steep gravel path to the Chamanna da Naluns and on to the transmitter antenna. This is where a high-altitude trail in sloping terrain begins. The singletrail climbs slightly up to Alp Clünas, after which you ride along a well-maintained alpine path towards Muot da l'Hom. As soon as the path descends towards Alp Laret, it becomes rougher and soon develops into a flowing singletrail.

At Alp Laret, the classic route leads left over to Prui. In this extended version, however, you branch off to the right and take the great trail down into Val Tasna. The trail continues on the opposite side of the valley and rides to just above Ardez. Shortly before the well-maintained alpine road leads down into the valley, turn left onto a trail and reach the connecting road between Ardez and Ftan. The destination is Ftan, where you can take the Prui chairlift up again and roll back to the Motta Naluns mountain station.

From Motta Naluns, the final descent to Scuol follows. First you are on the former downhill route, traverse to Flöna and head towards the path through Val Clozza. Beware: families are regularly on the trail here. The trail eventually rides directly into the center of Scuol.
