Cima del Monte - Buca del Bandito

In the Alps, a 500-metre-high summit will probably only elicit a tired smile from bikers, but on Elba, the Cima del Monte, as the highest point of the northern ridge, offers a 360-degree panorama over almost the entire island, panoramic summit trails, challenging passages in the bandit hole up to difficulty level S3 and the final detour over an old artellerie.

Chiesa di Monte Grosso – JoDa-Trail

The loop trail around the legendary church with its panoramic views above Varazze offers countless options for ascents and descents, with the so-called JoDa Trail across the ridge being an absolute highlight in terms of both scenery and riding technique.

Croce del Beigua

The all-mountain tour on the south side of Croce del Beigua and the corresponding descent are a long and challenging adventure near the coastal town of Cogoleto.

Punta Goetta – Sentiero degli Inglesi

The combination of the scenic viewpoint at Punta Goetta and the technically straightforward yet picturesque descent along the Sentiero degli Inglesi makes this short hike in Arenzano a worthwhile outing for a quick getaway.

Monte Reixa – Cianello-Trail

Monte Reixa is one of the highest peaks in Beigua National Park. It stands out for its ridge descent and the subsequent trail combinations, making it one of the longest trail combinations in the area.

Rocca Fontanassa

This technically demanding loop trail around Rocca Fontanassa on the Ligurian coast near Arenzano is one of the most challenging trail combinations in the region. It offers sweeping views and a high proportion of trail sections.

Marciana Rockgarden (Neviera-Trail)

The Neviera Trail, high above the northwest coast of Elba, is a highlight for fans of technical riding. It winds along the slope over numerous rocky sections and can be easily incorporated into a challenging enduro loop.

The Lacona region on Elba is known for its beaches and numerous campgrounds. Lacona is an attractive starting point for mountain bikers, partly because many trails end here. This route combines them into a single tour.

Monte Fonza

Monte Fonza is a fantastic mountain offering stunning views on the south coast of Elba, featuring an amazing single-track descent to Lacona. 

Lacona Panoramica

Lacona Bay is known as a hub for mountain biking on Elba. Right along the coast, there are two fantastic trails here that can be combined into a great loop.

The island of Elba is quite narrow, making for great MTB routes from one coast to the other. This route connects the south and north coasts with challenging downhill trails.

Monte Calamita Supertrails

The southern tip of Elba is the island’s MTB hotspot. The headland is crisscrossed with smooth singletrack trails, some of which wind through former mining sites.

The northern tip of Elba is relatively unknown, but it has plenty of trails to offer. Here you’ll find some amazing MTB riding away from the crowds. An optional stop: the picturesque Laghetto delle Conche.

Ortano Home-Trails

At the Reka resort in Ortano, mountain bikers are a regular sight. Right around the hotel bay, you can combine several trails into a short but challenging ride. 

Massaciuccoli-Trails

In the hinterland of the nature reserve surrounding Lago di Massaciuccoli, there are a few beautiful trails that can be combined into a varied loop.

Ghilardona-Trails

From Monte Ghilardona, there are two downhill trails that mountain bikers have created and maintained, which can be ridden and reached via a pleasant paved climb.

Lucca Trail Valley

In the countryside around Lucca in Tuscany, a group of mountain bikers has created some truly unparalleled trails in the forest. They have renamed the area on the northern side of Monte Faete the “Lucca Trail Valley.” And for good reason!

The trail from Monte Prana, just south of Massa, feels like an endless flow ride and is a real surprise in this otherwise rugged terrain.
