The region of Catalonia in northern Spain is known as a popular destination for mountain bikers. In March, Ride returned to the Girona area to scout new routes and subsequently added a batch of new routes to the tour database, further expanding its already extensive collection. 

From September 4 to 6, Ride is launching a new event format: the “Open Ride.” It’s a laid-back weekend spent with friends—some of whom you may not even know yet. This event for Ride subscribers features group bike rides and dinners, but above all, it’s about having a good time within the Ride community. 

Gravel is currently the megatrend in the cycling world. With the September issue (N°99), Ride ventures into this hybrid world of gravel and explains the sport of gravel from the perspective of mountain bikers.

The tour database was expanded in October to include numerous new singletrail routes in the Eastern Alps. These include many routes in Friuli and Austria. A total of 48 newly researched tours were added in October 2025.

Everything is now just social media: Influencers on Instagram, politicians on X and Tiktok, all of life is seemingly spun through these digital mills. As society drifts into superficiality, Ride is considering a complete exit from social media. Thomas Giger explains in his blog why we should finally do something to counter this dangerous maelstrom.

Winter is not the time for Ride to lie around. It's a time to prepare new tour suggestions. 16 new routes were added in January 2026 with a focus on Eastern Switzerland and Graubünden as well as some attractive routes in Tyrol.

Welcome on board! The Ride website is now also available in English. All content, from news and tours to the weekly newsletter, is now bilingual. Ride wants to make its online content accessible to a wider audience.

Ride is known for its extensive print reports and large tour database. But the ride makers also take to the trails in person at the ride camps. They start in Barcelona in March, followed by numerous camps in the Alps and the Finalissima in Genoa in October.

The ski season is in sight and many snow sports resorts have already opened for business. Ideally, mountain bikers who are switching to bikes for the next few months should also stay in hotels that have a heart for cyclists in winter. Ride shows which hotels are particularly worthwhile.

The digital Ride Trail Map is at the heart of Ride. The route network is constantly being updated and expanded, with 31,000 kilometers added in 2025. There was a strong focus on the French Alps. Madeira is also a new addition.

Back in summer 2025, Ride added numerous routes in the French High Alps to its tour database. In November, a further 18 highlights were added to the Southern Western Alps.

In mid-September, Ride went on an excursion with the print magazine. A sensational excursion into the world of gravel bikes. The entire print issue N°99 is devoted exclusively to this topic. And now Ride would like to know from its readers what they think of this excursion.

Over 70 personalities from the bike industry, tourism and the media world came together at the Ride Partner Summit 2025 in Bern on September 18. The event at the "Turbo Lama" in Bern was all about networking and inspiration.

Gravel sport is a mystery to many mountain bikers - gravel paths instead of epic trails, uniformity instead of individuality. In his blog post, Thomas Giger takes the new sport apart, recognizing in it what the MTB sport is increasingly losing: the joy of life.

The tour database grew in August to include numerous new singletrail routes in the Briançon region, supplemented by classics in nearby Valle Varaita and Genoa. A total of 36 new tours were added in August 2025.

The French Alpine town of Briançon is no longer an insider tip in mountain biking circles. The region near the Queyras Regional Park is a hotspot when it comes to single trails. Ride has now published a comprehensive spot guide.

There are only a few hotels like the Cervo in Zermatt. And there are also few trails with a backdrop like Zermatt. These two highlights are the extraordinary ingredients of the Ride Camp from October 3 to 5 in Zermatt.

The August issue (N°98) of Ride is all about new perspectives - on well-known trails, underrated regions and the future of mountain biking. Included: Aosta, Poschiavo, Lower Valais and Genoa

In July, 18 new routes were added to the Ride tour database. The focus was on routes in Trentino with the regions around Ponte Legno and the Adige Valley between Bolzano and Trento.

The Terres Noires in Digne now have cult status among mountain bikers. Ride has prepared a full load of singletrail tours from the region in June.

The June issue of Ride delivers remarkable trail tours that have been given new charms thanks to mountain railroads: Cortina, Flumserberg, Chasseral.

In 2024, Ride gave its print magazine a new look. Since then, the icon has been stamped into the cover. Ride won the "European Magazine Award" for the best print relaunch for this repositioning.

Here is the overview of the newly recorded ride tours in May 2025. A total of 29 researched routes have been added with a strong focus on the region around Kufstein (A) and Val Varaita (I).

There are classics everywhere: in music, in the world of film or even among mountain bike tours. The May issue is dedicated to such legendary and sometimes surprising routes.

Here is an overview of the newly recorded ride tours in March and April 2025. 41 researched routes have been added. The focus was on Lake Garda, the Ligurian coast around Genoa and Valais

Attention, fretig, go! The mountain bike season kicks off in April and Ride is there with the latest issue. This includes: great tours in Zurich, on Lake Garda and in the Black Forest, which provide plenty of single trails early in the year.

Here is the overview of the newly recorded ride tours in February 2025. 19 researched routes have been added with a focus on the Italian south-eastern Alps.

Every February, Ride kicks off the new season with a special travel issue. Mountain biking is about more than just riding trails - weekend trips and long bike vacations are just as important. In line with this, issue 94 of Ride features extensive reports on Tuscany, the Davos region and Goms, supplemented by a helpful article on how to manage successful bike trips with the whole family.

At the end of the year, there are reviews from all sides. Also at Ride - on the new tours and trails recorded in 2024. 315 new route descriptions have been added. There are also 17,000 kilometers in the route network of the Ride Trail Map.

The Ride Trail Map is becoming ever more extensive. In 2024, the route network has grown to over 205,000 kilometers, making it the largest available network of bike trails. New additions include trails in Baden-Württemberg, on the Costa Brava and in Tenerife.

With the publication of routes, is Ride to blame if trails are damaged by mountain bikers? "Yes and no" says Ride editor Thomas Giger in his blog. Far more problematic, however, is the underlying thought pattern of always naming someone to blame for everything - with the exception of yourself, of course.

The current MTB season is still in full swing, and yet next year is already casting its first shadows. For example, with the legendary Ride wall calendar - the 2025 version is now available. "Ride" has once again compiled 13 of its best trail images into a large-format wall calendar.

This was the Ride Partner Summit 2024: a great and uncomplicated event with inspiring short presentations is in the books and the event pictures are in the database. Here's a look back at the summit at the Road World Championships in Zurich.

It's time for the monthly review of new ride tours. In September 2024, the tour database grew by 16 routes. The focus was on the Swabian Alb, the area around Innsbruck and the Upper Valais.

Ride delivers the annual rendezvous of the ride cosmos with its Partner Summit. This year's networking event will take place on September 27 during the World Cycling Championships in Zurich. Information and registration form are now available.

In August 2024, the Ride tour database was expanded to include a full load of high alpine routes. A total of 29 new routes were added with a focus on the French Alps and several 3000-metre tours in Austria.

Here is a review of the ride tours prepared in July 2024: 28 new routes were recorded with a focus on the Stuttgart region, the area south of Lake Chiemsee, Landeck and the Arlberg and the Münster Valley.
