Here’s a full lineup of tours for the Swabian Alb

In April 2026, Ride significantly expanded its tour database. The portfolio now includes, in particular, tours in the Swabian Alb and the Taunus region near Frankfurt.

For some time now, Ride has been placing a greater focus on Germany with its tour database. The Black Forest and the Palatinate Forest are already well covered, and now two more areas have been added with their first routes.

The Frankfurt region, including the adjacent Taunus Mountains and the famous Grosser Feldberg. There are some really great single trails here right on the city’s doorstep, and they’re easily accessible by subway or commuter rail. There’s also an active mountain biking community here that clearly takes good care of the trails. Ride now features several new, attractive routes around the Grosser Feldberg.

All Ride tours in the Frankfurt area

Ride MTB has placed its other, somewhat broader focus on the Swabian Alb. The mountain range southeast of Stuttgart is known for its seemingly endless ridge trails and for World Cup venues such as Albstadt. Tour author Thomas Giger spent an extended period in the Swabian Alb in the spring of 2026 and has published a series of newly researched tours.

The April program also includes numerous tours in South Tyrol and Trentino. The author responsible for these newly researched tours is Martin Depauli. In April, his focus was particularly on tours around Lake Garda and on new routes in the Sterzing region south of the Brenner Pass.

Passeier Almentour

The long tour to the Alps on the northern flanks of the Passeier Valley is a great tour for fit mountain bikers with a flair for crisp singletrail descents. The shady location makes it a particularly good route in midsummer.

Steep is cool - this applies to the Passeier Valley in general, but especially to the singletrail descent from the Glaitner Joch down to Sankt Leonhard. The tour on the Jaufenpass is a treat for good riding technique.

Mordloch – Roggental

The Mordloch circuit is an official mountain bike route near Geislingen, but unfortunately without trails. However, these would be available. In the ride version, the tour has been properly upgraded in terms of trail content.

Bad Uracher Hometrails

Bad Urach is home to Magura's headquarters and is surrounded by some of the Swabian Alb's great trails. The tour combines these trails into a great tour around the town.

Hohenzollern Castle is world-famous. Just south of it lies Albstadt and a whole host of trails around it, which are combined on this route.

Grosser Feldberg Trail-Kombi

The Grosse Feldberg in the Taunus Mountains is located just outside Frankfurt and is known for its trails. This route combines some of the region’s best-kept secret descents into a challenging ride.

Reutlinger Kreten-Trails

The trail tour south of Reutlingen impresses with many great single trails along steeply sloping rocky ledges and beautiful views of large parts of the Swabian Alb. Lichtenstein Castle is also a highlight of the tour.

The pretty town of Bad Urach offers plenty of trails in the surrounding area. For example, in the area to the north, where the trails can be combined into a great loop.

This loop route around the legendary Forte di Cima Vezzena, at just under 1,900 meters above sea level, offers breathtaking views across the entire Valsugana valley and features historic climbs as well as some challenging downhill sections.
