Bad Uracher Hometrails

Bad Urach

Bad Urach is home to Magura's headquarters and is surrounded by some of the Swabian Alb's great trails. The tour combines these trails into a great tour around the town.

Description

The tour starts in the picturesque center of Bad Urach. You leave the valley on cycle paths and climb up a gravel road to the western flank of the valley, where you reach the first Kretenweg trail at the Rutschenhof. Follow this along the ridge and soon plunge into the first trail descent. The route towards Bad Urach is varied and offers further variety with an optional detour to the Schlossberg. A gravel road leads back to the ridge, and once again you follow a crête path with a few short climbs that leads to Sirchingen. A fast path takes you to the valley floor, briefly follows the River Erms and then changes sides of the valley.

The ascent begins on a gravel road, but soon turns into a trail that is easy to ride on. Passing Hohenwittlingen Castle, you reach Wittlingen, where the next exciting trail section begins after a short asphalt section. A very long crête trail leads back to Bad Urach. Those who have had enough of trails can relax in the beer garden. Others can take a gravel road up to Hülben and tackle the next ridge trail, which ends in a spectacular serpentine section and ends right by the first houses in Bad Urach.

For those interested: the Magura company building is located directly on the route, immediately after the start of the tour.

Note: The tour is located in Baden-Württemberg with the legal requirement of a two-meter rule. This tour contains elements that do not comply with this regulation. Rather, it reflects routes that are ridden by local mountain bikers. Compliance with the regulations is the responsibility of each individual mountain biker.
