The tour starts in Filisur and follows the signposted mountain bike route (90 Graubünden Bike) to Bergün. It’s easier, however, to take the train from Filisur and skip this climb. The ascent to Stugl begins right behind the train station, and from there continues to the Runsolas settlement. The climb up the alpine road through the Val da Stugl is very steep at first but then gradually levels off. In this idyllic high valley, you might feel as if you’ve found yourself somewhere in Alaska. Pine and larch forests dot the alpine meadows, and a raging mountain stream flows right through the middle. Meanwhile, the ascent has transitioned into a singletrack that’s easy to ride at first. Then it gets steeper and steeper, and for the final 400 Höhenmeter to Ducanfurgga, you’ll have to push or carry your bike.
The scenery on this high-alpine-style pass, however, is absolutely stunning—as is the singletrack down into the Ducantal. The Supertrail ends in Sertig, where the return ride to Filisur begins. This route takes you along the world-famous Landwasser Epic Trail (Alps Trail Davos). On the singletrack, you ride from Sertig up to Äbirügg (Rinerhorn) and then stay on the high-altitude trail that leads to Hauderalp. A short descent takes you to Monstein, followed by a 200-meter climb until a world-class trail leads to Jenisberg. You then ride down into the Zügenschlucht gorge, later reaching the Wiesen train station, and continue following the Landwasser River all the way to the Landwasser Viaduct. From there, you ride back to Filisur on the main road.
Option: Instead of returning to Filisur via Rinerhorn–Monstein–Wiesen, take the trail to Clavadel in Sertig, continue from there to Davos, and take the train back to Filisur.

What an awesome tour! We rode the train from St. Moritz to Bergün and started there. Instead of taking the Epic Trail back to Filisur, we headed toward Davos and Wolfgang, then turned left toward Gotschna and took the Gotschnatrail to Klosters. Afterward, we rode the train back to St. Moritz. That’s another great alternative.
Today we rode the trail from Bergün to Sertig and Davos. It’s one of the absolute best trails, both in terms of scenery and trail difficulty. But: It’s no walk in the park—the climb is very tough: first you ride, then you have to push your bike again and again, and of course carry it at times—all under the blazing sun. In return, you’re rewarded with the wonderful scenery even as you climb—and once you reach the top, you’re fully compensated for all the hardships and for wondering what on earth you’re doing there. Bottom line: It’s a MUST-DO tour that belongs on everyone’s list!

It makes perfect sense to make the tour easier by train. For example, start in Glaris with the Rinerhornbahn and Filisur - Bergün by train. There is still enough altitude difference. The part between the Rinerhornbahn and Filisur takes more energy than the Map shows. But absolutely worth it.

Did the classic Filisur-Filisur variant on 10.08.2024 with the EMTB. There is no reason why this tour should be unsuitable for eMTBs. I agree with this statement. There are a few meters with the e-bike that are not rideable with good skills. And these can easily be overcome with the push-assist. In my opinion, you can forget the ascent to Bergün (take the RhB instead), it's still long enough afterwards.
Rode the tour this year via rinerhorn, Fanezfugga, Ducan and down to Bergün, Filisur. It was fun too!
Rode today with eMTB. It really is a fantastic tour, even though I was washed out by the rain three times. I extended the route a little. Before Davos Monstein, it's worth riding via Oberalp and not just straight down. There is a wonderful alpine restaurant right on the trail. And a beer brewed in Monstein is definitely delicious :-)

I'm going to say that with a functioning push assist, the climb up Ducanfurgga is at least as easy as with a push bike and the rest is not an issue anyway. I rode the tour today and can only confirm all the existing comments: it really is an epically fantastic tour. I started in Davos and after Filisur took the bike path down in the valley over the Wiesner Viaduct. You miss out on the trails down from the Rinerhorn, but the rest is still very strenuous enough. Up to 2250 m, everything is rideable for good bikers, even if the road is very steep. The 400m push uphill is very steep, but the downhill down to Sertig makes up for all the exertion. A dream trail - lots of flow, even small jumps, as if it had been designed for MTBs. I was able to ride everything without any problems. Don't forget: pause for a moment at the top of the pass and enjoy the incredible silence of the mountain world ...
I rode the tour today and am overwhelmed! Pure mountain biking! Fantastic area. I would say this tour deserves the title "Epic"!

I rode the tour on 22.07.20 in a slightly modified form by e-bike:
Start in Chants, Val Tuors to Stuls and in the Sertig valley then right over the Sertigpass and the Val Ravais-ch back to Chants.
The two ascents are also doable with an e-bike, but very tough (a decent push aid is a prerequisite). The downhill from Ducanfurgga is absolutely great. Unfortunately, there were a few hikers on the trail. However, I was occasionally glad to be able to catch my breath a little.
Rode yesterday (31.7.2020). Simply fantastic without obstacles and storm damage! ...But the tour is also more strenuous than the altitude meters/distance alone would suggest. Especially the 200...300 meters of altitude difference from Sertig up are really tough. We also did an additional loop above Monstein, which was well worth it. (I think it was bike trail 355 ???)

The trail through the Zügenschlucht gorge between Leidboda and Landwasser Viaduct is currently (20.7.2019) closed due to storm damage. To avoid the ascent from Leidboda to Schmitten, it is better to keep the altitude directly from Wiesen Station and not enter the Zügenschlucht from there. It's a shame that a section of trail is missing. But what the heck, the trail from Ducanfurgga to Sertig is the highlight!

I rode the tour for the first time 25 years ago. Back then with a hardtail without a suspension fork. We cursed when we had to push the bike up to Furrga. Never again, we said to ourselves, will we do a tour like that. We want to ride and not hike. Now we laugh about it. What's 400 meters? Very few people knew this tour and now everyone wants to go over the Furgga. Have fun

Sali - we rode the tour on July 15, 2017 ... it would be nonsense to ride it the other way around. You would miss the really cool trail from Ducanfurgga down to Sertig. And a descent to Bergün wouldn't be the highlight either.
The Ride colleagues have already thought about doing the tour in this direction ;-). But be careful ... it was really exhausting ... (especially up to dFurgga). But as always - mega beautiful.
