Davos – Arosa – Chur

The mountain bike tour from Davos via Arosa and Lenzerheide to Chur is a technically and physically demanding route in alpine terrain. Until shortly before Chur, the entire route is at over 1500 meters above sea level. Even though the major climbs are tackled by cable car, the many smaller ascents and challenging descents require a good level of fitness.

Description

The tour starts in Davos with the ascent by funicular to the Weissfluhjoch, from where you reach the Strelapass through the Hauptertäli valley. Now it's time for the singletrail ascent to Latschüelfurgga and then down to Tritt. There is a staircase in this rocky passage and the bike has to be carried down a few meters. The path soon becomes rideable again and leads to Medergen as a tricky singletrail. This is followed by a short ascent on an alpine road to Tieja, then you follow the next singletrail down to the reservoir far below Arosa. The upcoming ascent to Hörnli is then mastered with the gondola, but in Arosa you first have to climb a little over 200 meters in altitude on the road to the valley station. The traverse to Urdenfürggli is next, where you first have to ride downhill for a while before climbing back up on the trail on the opposite side. In the summer months, you can also take the connecting cable car here, but the route on the trail is attractive enough not to have to replace it with a gondola ride. From Urdenfürggli, head towards Alp Scharmoin and then take the beautiful high-level trail to Obersäss. A short descent and a strenuous ascent later, you reach the Churer Joch, the starting point of the first-class final descent to Chur. This leads through the very steep terrain on the ridge on a direct route towards Chur. You pass the Oberhof and Grida groups of houses and reach the valley floor near Chur from Passugg on an attractive final section. From here, it's a leisurely roll to the city center and the train station.

Cool tour! 47 with a bike to the weissfluhjoch, but a bit overpriced. alternatively, ride directly from davos up to the strelapass, 800m, the descent from the weissfluhjoch to there is not worthwhile anyway, wide ski slope gravel paths. afterwards top trails, train prices in arosa/lenzi then humane.

Great tour, highly recommended, for me as an average rider it had 2-3 sliding passages, but I was happy to put up with them. However, I rode from Arosa to the Weisshorn and then via Tschiertschen to Chur.

Great tour! A bit expensive without the half-fare but it was really worth it! Had a lot of fun on this route, I will ride it again.

That was a great tour! What can I say..... take a look for yourself....
