From Chur train station, ride in the direction of Lürlibad and up through the Fürstenwald forest to Mittenberg. The viewpoint 500 meters above Chur is a must for local mountain bikers, and you are rarely alone on the trail. The winding singletrail descent towards Fürstenwald is regularly maintained and is great fun to ride. The route continues along the edge of the forest and over a clearing to Fürstenwald, where the second part of the tour begins with the ascent to Scalärarüfi. The last part of this is quite steep, but the singletrail through the sparse forest makes up for the effort and mostly leads along the stream on a dam. The route is not always clear, as numerous trail variants ride through the Fürstenwald forest. After reaching the lower edge of the forest, a trail on the left leads flat or slightly uphill through the forest, returning to the starting point at Chur train station via local roads.
