Tschengels

Tschengels Felsberg

On the sunny slope above Felsberg, there is a first-class, partly technical single trail with a 500-metre descent. In combination with the Rheinufer Trail, this makes for an excellent tour from Chur that can be ridden almost all year round.

Description

The tour starts at Chur train station, from where you ride out of the city center on district roads and gain a few metres in altitude on a forest road. You reach the Rhine bridge to Felsberg via two fast, fun forest trails and turn right after the church into the ascent to Tschengels. The road is initially asphalted, but becomes a gravel road in the upper section, although it remains evenly steep. Shortly before the end of the forest road is the start of the trail, with the technically demanding sections waiting right at the beginning. Some exposed sections and a few hairpin bends require a confident riding technique. The second part of the descent is increasingly easy to ride, and once you reach the Rhine, the riverside trail immediately follows. You follow this past Felsberg with short interruptions to Rossboden, where you change banks and ride on to Camping Obere Au. You then reach the starting point at Chur railroad station via local roads.
