Ringelspitzhütte
Description
From Bad Ragaz, take the little road up to Pfäfers and follow it through the Tamina Valley. You pass Vättis and finally reach the Kunkelspass. Now the more challenging part of the ascent begins. Climb up to Grossalp on a gravel road and then take the single trail that leads away from the alp on the right. This was created especially for mountain bikers and is slightly less steep than the hiking trail leading directly up to the Ringelspitzhütte. Very strong mountain bikers ride up to the hut, but most push their bikes a few meters. The Ringelspitzhütte is the culmination point of the tour, from here you descend into the Lawoitobel after a refreshment stop. The path is initially quite tricky to ride, but then becomes increasingly flowy until it finally turns into a super-fun single trail in the forest. After 800 meters of descent, you reach a gravel road, which you follow downhill for lack of alternatives. In this way, 500 meters of altitude are "destroyed" before you climb a little above Tamins to the Benis Böden. This is where the fun final section begins on a single trail that leads directly to the banks of the Rhine and then on to Rossboden near Chur. The riverside trail is one of the classic single trails in Chur and forms a wonderful end to the tour to the Ringelspitzhütte. You can get back to Bad Ragaz by train or, if you still have energy, along the Rhine via Landquart.

Tour ridden with e-bike. The ascent without support must be very hard. Super nice and friendly service at the hut. The descent is definitely worth it, super fun trail. The ride on the gravel road can be considered secondary. It should be mentioned that much of the trail rides along very steep gorges. But no problem for those with a head for heights. I really enjoyed the tour and will certainly go up there again.
Ascent, hut view all top. The descent is not worth it. Short action, then laborious traverse on the flat, another short ok and then almost all alpine road.
Rode on 26.5.2023. Hardly any snow, trail very good.
