Taminser Älpli | Ride MTB

Taminser Älpli

The Calanda towers high above Chur, and at lofty heights there are some wonderfully situated Alps that make attractive mountain bike destinations. The Taminser Älpli is one such destination, with the descent here riding down to the Kunkelspass and on to Tamins.

Description

The tour starts in Felsberg and then climbs up the steep little road to the Unterberg forest clearing and on to the Älplihütte. A total of 1460 vertical meters are conquered in one go - an exhausting struggle until the wonderful view of the Chur Rhine Valley finally awaits as a reward at the small hut. But the feat of strength is not over yet: although the high-level trail to Taminser Älpli is always rideable, the bike often has to be pushed here. Finally, the downhill trail is reached at the impressively situated alpine hut. This leads steeply and roughly down to the Kunkelspass, where every millimeter of suspension travel is needed. At Kunkelspass, the trail continues straight away, but is now much smoother and more fun. Further down, you follow the asphalt road for a few meters, but then turn left and climb a few more meters up to the Benis Böden. A fun meadow trail now leads to the banks of the Rhine, where you can return to Felsberg on the trail right by the water.
