Calandahütte
Description
From Haldenstein railroad station, you ride through the village center of Haldenstein up to the ruins, then follow a forest path on a long ascent to the Calanda hut. This involves overcoming 1520 meters of altitude in one go. After a break at the hut, the route follows a single trail and a section of the ascent route to Neusäss. Another single trail leads to the Vazer Alp, then at a rapid pace past the alpine settlement of Batänja to the Lichtenstein ruins. The last few meters back to Haldenstein lead along an old castle path.

Super tour! The almost constant ascent to the Calanda hut saps your strength, but the view makes up for it. Allow enough time for the ascent to the summit. Afterwards, enjoy the Calanda in the Calanda hut.
Not worthwhile. Sure the view from the hut is great but not worth the descent! 2 of the 3 short single trails are crossings or go uphill. I would rate the riding technique on the trails with at least 2 to 3 out of 6 points and in between many meters of altitude are destroyed on alpine roads. It is better to use the hiking trail along the ascent route.
