Juchs

Juchs (Chur)

Alp Juchs is one of the rewarding but technically challenging after-work rides in the Chur region, with a tricky serpentine trail on the descent.

Description

The ascent to Juchs is easy to describe: you cycle from Chur to neighboring Felsberg on the cycle route and then climb around 800 meters in altitude on a well-maintained gravel road with a pleasant gradient to Juchs. The small alpine settlement offers a great view over the Chur Rhine Valley and into the legendary Rhine Gorge.

The downhill trail starts just below the houses. A crisp serpentine path winds its way through steep terrain and is rated at difficulty level S4. Further down, the trail becomes more moderate until, after a short gravel section, you cross the Valparghera. Then comes the highlight: a super-flowing single trail that leads almost down to Sommerau near Chur.
