Tom Oehlers Gipfelweltrekord
Description
The route is divided into three challenging loops. Loop one rides into the area around the Jakobshorn. The day begins with an ascent through the Sertig valley. Instead of descending, this time the trail is cranked up - a change of perspective that few people know about. We soon continue on foot: the bike is shouldered and carried over the steep S3 ridge. The reward: a spectacular ridge path with a view of Davos. Once you reach the Jakobshorn, the legendary descent from Brämabuel awaits - a varied trail ride directly into the town center.
Loop two sets its sights on the Pischa area. The ascent starts in the classic way on the Pischarunde, but at the cable car mountain station you turn right - up to the Pischahorn. The trail is technically extreme: only manageable uphill, a S4 to S5 feat of strength downhill. Back at the bottom, the loop over the Hüreli follows, then a short, crisp ascent to the Seehorn. After the summit, the trail leads back towards Lake Davos and finally back to the center.
Loop three brings the final challenge. A steep gravel road leads to the Parsennhütte and on to the Weissfluhjoch. If you want the record here, you have to deliver: Tom drags his bike up to the Weissfluh summit - compulsory summit number 13. The return journey along the rough S3/S4 trail is a real concentration boost. At the Strela Pass, the route turns off to the Schiahorn - technically demanding, but largely rideable. Back at the pass, the grand finale follows: the ascent to the Chörbschhorn. The classic Davos trail is the worthy conclusion to an epic record-breaking ride.
