Jakobshorn-Dischma

Two excellent descents ride from the Jakobshorn near Davos into the side valleys. The version into the Dischma valley is the crisper version, with a fantastic panorama and a first-class singletrail section on the way back to Davos.

Description

Many people take the gondola lift to climb the Jakobshorn, but the ascent can also be mastered under your own steam. Instead, you ride along the pleasantly ascending alpine road to the Clavadeleralp and from there via Jatzhütte to the summit of the Jakobshorn. This is where the descent begins, which initially leads through the sloping terrain to the Brämabüel pre-summit. The view of Davos and Lake Davos from here is excellent. Now begins the long and fun singletrail into the Dischma valley. After Alp Stillberg, the trail enters the forest and becomes a little more technical than on the open alpine terrain. Eventually you reach the valley floor, but the route is not yet over. After a short stretch on the mountain road on the opposite side of the valley, you climb 170 meters in altitude until the singletrail back to Davos begins at a right-hand hairpin bend. This is fun to ride, but in many places it leads over countless roots - which makes it particularly challenging in wet conditions. Finally, you reach the Büelenquartier, from where you return to Davos on a trail along the golf course.
