Secret-Trail Klosters

Secret-Trail_Klosters

From the Madrisa above Klosters, there are several descents into the valley to choose from, with the Secret Trail being the more challenging option and particularly popular with locals. It leads past Zügenhüttli and Donnerstein through the Ronenwald forest to Klosters.

Description

From Klosters-Dorf railroad station, follow the cantonal road downhill for a while and turn right shortly before leaving the village onto a short ascent on a mountain road. Before the second hairpin bend, switch to the hiking trail, which you follow uphill to Pagrüeg and further on to just before Saas. On the mountain road to Madrisa, you cover practically the entire ascent of around ten kilometers and 1000 meters of altitude difference at a constant gradient. Pass the Madrisa station on the way to Alp Untersäss and on to Zügenhüttli. This is where the sometimes challenging single trail begins past the Donnerstein through the Ronenwald forest, high above the Schlappintobel. At the hamlet of Flue, the final descent begins with a trail practically in the fall line, which ends just above the Madrisabahn valley station. Finally, you ride back to the train station on the road through the village of Klosters.

There is a section closed on the way up from Madrisa-Hof as they are building the solar power plant, there is a detour signed, but it is a push and carry mostly, however it is not too long.

Trail in good condition. As the trail from Flue is closed, I ride past Donnerstein to Schlapinsee and on the other side to Klosters Dorf. This section has just been repaired. I think it's great. Happy trail

Trail in top condition. The last part from Flua Weg is still closed. One of the coolest trails for me, well worth the long climb.

Hello,
The last trail descent from approx. 1500m is now closed!
You have to take the forest path and the road.
Otherwise a very easy tour!
Ideal with an e-bike!

A worthwhile tour overall. Initially, the trail runs along the main road, which is practically never visible. Funny trial, really "secret", you'd never think to ride along it like this. There are very short push sections now and then. The ascent is simply explained; once up :-) Although this can be seen more as physical exercise. The view and path are not very spectacular. Many scooter riders come along at the weekends. After the Madrisa mountain station, the trail climbs a little again, followed by a really fun downhill. It's all wonderfully rideable, some of it is really good for bolting, with a few tricky sections. Simply great fun!
And two more tips for fans of locking rear wheels. No, you don't need any technical skills to pull the rear brake. And the trails are simply ruined. Unfortunately, you can see this on this route. So, just let it be ;-)
Thanks for the cool track and your work. Ride on!
