Madrisa

The Madrisa was considered the Alpe d'Huez of mountain bikers at the Swiss Bike Masters. The race no longer exists, but the tour above Klosters is still worthwhile.

Description

From Klosters, ride along the Boschga meadow to the valley floor below Klosters Dorf. Follow the Landquart river to Saas railroad station and climb up to the village center. Now the long ascent to Madrisa begins, with almost 900 meters of altitude to conquer. The downhill trail begins below the Madrisa at the last hairpin bend. The often quite rough trail winds its way over roots and hairpin bends to Alp Bändi, from here a fast alpine path leads into Schlappintobel. At the "Flue" group of houses, you have the option of riding directly to Klosters Dorf on a technical trail. However, we stay on the alpine road and shoot down the Schlappintobel. Shortly before Klosters, at the second right-hand serpentine, a singletrail rides all the way to Klosters Platz and forms an attractive end to the tour.
