The tour starts in the town of Pfullingen, a southern district of Reutlingen. From there, the route leads up small roads to the adjacent hills, where the first single trail awaits right at the start. This trail is representative of the entire tour: flowing, agile and always along a sloping rocky ledge. The Mädlesfels, one of the first highlights, offers a far-reaching view as far as Stuttgart. There is a challenging S2 passage along the way, while the rest of the route is mostly at a flowing S1 level.

The route rides through the forest to Lindenhof and then over an asphalt transfer section before returning to the trails at Stahleck. An impressive serpentine path winds its way down to near Unterhausen, followed by a steep climb that you have to earn. If you prefer an easier route, follow the ridge to Holzelfingen. A long, impressive path leads high above the Echaztal valley to Traifelberg, where the return journey to Pfullingen begins on the opposite side of the valley.

A crisp but short climb awaits at the old ski lift before you reach Lichtenstein Castle, one of the region's landmarks, on a combination of trails, forest roads and cycle paths. The character of the tour remains unchanged: numerous trails, flowing and agile, interspersed with occasional, energy-sapping climbs, always along the mountain flank. Finally, you reach Schönberg with its extraordinary viewing tower and from there take the final trail back to Pfullingen. Conclusion: a great, sporty and varied trail tour.
