Mordloch – Roggental | Ride MTB

Mordloch – Roggental

Geislingen

The Mordloch circuit is an official mountain bike route near Geislingen, but unfortunately without trails. However, these would be available. In the ride version, the tour has been properly upgraded in terms of trail content.

Description

The tour starts in the center of Geislingen and rides northwards, climbing up to the ridge that drops steeply into the lower Filstal valley. Instead of the official MTB route, which rides across the plateau on less attractive dirt tracks, there is an interesting alternative just a stone's throw away: an impressive crete trail. This path stretches for several kilometers along the ridge to Kuchalb. Once you have passed the village, the route combines trails and small roads that ride up to Messelberg. Once again, you follow the ridge for a while before a transfer section on gravel and country roads leads to Schnittlingen. From there, the route descends on a charming trail to the Mordloch on the valley floor of the Eyb stream. You finally roll along the valley floor back to Geislingen.

Note: The tour is located in Baden-Württemberg with the legal requirement of a two-meter rule. This tour contains elements that do not comply with this regulation. Rather, it reflects routes that are ridden by local mountain bikers. Compliance with the regulations is the responsibility of each individual mountain biker.

As a local, I know that there are a lot of hikers on the Kuchalb on sunny days.
I would avoid the stretch from Kuhfels to Hohenstein (km 7-13) between 10 am and 4 pm on sunny Sundays.
