Heubach Alb-Trails
Description
The tour begins in the town center with an ascent through the Fockentäle valley up to the mountain ridge. You ride a mix of fast trails and gravel roads, crossing the plateau to the Bernhardus Chapel. While the first part of the route consisted mainly of gravel transfer sections, the focus now shifts to the trails. The route kicks off with the fast-paced Bernhardus Trail, which is followed shortly thereafter by the Hornberg Trail. Both sections are rated S1 to S2 in difficulty, but become very challenging in wet conditions since they run almost entirely on dirt.
You then reach the village of Weiler, which serves as the starting point for the next ascent to the ridge. The 300-meter climb is manageable, and immediately after reaching the summit, the route continues along narrow paths. This time, the route to the Bargauerhorn stands out, with its switchbacks creating an almost alpine atmosphere. The elevation lost earlier is regained during the ascent to the Naturfreundehaus Himmelreich. Directly behind the Naturfreundehaus, the next trail begins, which, despite its flat nature, impresses with its very smooth flow.
Finally, a gravel path leads up to the Scheuerlberg ridge, which forms the basis for the smooth S2 final descent to Heubach. The conclusion: a successful enduro-style single-track tour.
Note: The tour is located in Baden-Württemberg with the legal requirement of a two-meter rule. This tour contains elements that do not comply with this regulation. Rather, it reflects routes that are ridden by local mountain bikers. Compliance with the regulations is the responsibility of each individual mountain biker.
