To get there, you pass the campground, where the mostly flat S1 trail begins, winding picturesquely along the coast. Later, you reach a small gravel road and pedal uphill a bit until you reach the next trail a little further up, which takes you all the way to the tip of the small headland. Here, you switch sides of the mountain to climb the ridge from the east via a gravel path. The return ride then follows an extremely smooth S1 trail over the ridge.
Back in Lacona, you cross over to Monte Fonza and climb a short distance toward Passo del Monumento. At an elevation of 155 meters above sea level, you turn left onto a gravel road that leads up to the ridge. From there, a trail continues on to Monte Fonza. The view from up here is simply fantastic. The subsequent trail descent requires an S2 skill level almost throughout. Right at the end, a few short uphill sections put your calves to the test once more before you cover the last few meters back to civilization on a bumpy track.
