Tenner Chrüz
Description
The best way to reach the start of the tour is by train and take a shuttle from Thusis or the Postbus to the Glas Pass. From there it's straight into the terrain. The approach to the Bischola Pass is the perfect warm-up for the first, technically challenging descent. If you want a less difficult start, take the left-hand descent from Mädelti through Gadastettli and return to the main route at the end. A very beautiful, sometimes tricky single trail soon follows at the bottom of the valley along the Rabiusa to the reservoir, after which the main ascent begins. From the Tenna junction to the village of the same name, there are also regular Postbus minibuses. Up to Tenna on asphalt and then on a concrete road, only the last hundred meters of altitude lead on a trail to Tenner Chrüz. Strong climbers ride everything here. Although not a summit, Tenner Chrüz offers a magnificent view over Laax to the imposing Piz Beverin and Bruschghorn.
The downhill pass is then found on an amazingly flowing single trail with some tricky passages. A very good riding technique and an anticipatory riding style are essential on this route. Although interrupted, from the Brünner Alp you ride on various cool trail sections to Carrera, from there partly on trail and road to Versam. From the entrance to the Safiental valley, you leave the Versam ravine via beautiful single trails and then ride on easy trails and forest roads to Reichenau station.

Rode this tour on 23.7.2025. Me on an e-bike and a bike friend on a normal bike. We took ourselves up the Glaspass. Unfortunately, we didn't read the comments beforehand and rode into this impenetrable storm wood, our own fault. This section must be bypassed, it will take years or forever until there is a path again. The Imschlacht Brün section is well worth the effort. No big problem with a navigation system. You should actually be grateful to the bikers, as otherwise many paths would become overgrown. The trail down from Tenner Chrüz was well mown.
Super tour that takes a lot of energy on the BioBike right at the start from the Glaspass! Many very steep climbs. A great tour for good technicians.
First part to Grafa not rideable due to logging. The trail was badly damaged in the process.
I can't really recommend the second part: Deep, narrow gullies so that the pedals get stuck. Heavily overgrown, which is no fun on narrow, exposed trails. A forest track from Carrera to the end. If you are looking for more than just a panorama (which is very nice), you should look elsewhere in my opinion.
Very nice tour!
There was only one tree to avoid on the descent from the Bischolpass.
Provided you have the technical skills, this is a really rewarding tour👍
Both descents are pure nature trails. A very beautiful tour with an adventurous character - wonderful!
But beware!
At the moment there is storm wood on the 1st descent on the Mädelti - Grafa (Cherawald) section. The quickest way to reach the trail is to descend the steep forest terrain in a fall line before the storm wood. (Not around or through the storm wood!)
The Imschlacht - Brün section no longer exists! It is better to follow the hiking trail signs to Brün from Brüner Alp.
But the Imschlacht Brün section of the trail does exist. But access is not easy to find.
After two days on the designer trails of Flims-Laax, the two descents are pure enjoyment: back to the roots! The fact that the tour has now been published on Ride means that the trail from the Bischola Pass is not completely forgotten.
Wonderful tour far off the beaten track. The trail in the Safiental valley to the Egschi reservoir is unfortunately hardly maintained and has been overgrown with tall grass for years, but is very varied. Between the Tenner Chrüz and the Brüner Alp there is only flow for a few meters at most, but the route is still a pleasure. A stop at the Alpenblick in Tenna, the Maiensässbeizli on the Imschlacht (10 minutes detour from the Brüner Alp) or in Brün is highly recommended!
