Runca-Trail

The Runca Trail in Flims has become one of the best-known mountain bike descents, but is also ideal as part of a panoramic tour.

Description

Past the valley station of the Crap-Sogn-Gion cable cars, you ride along an asphalt road through the Murschetg district of Laax and climb up to Alp Nagens. From here, follow the well-maintained alpine road to the Nagens mountain restaurant and take a long break. Immediately behind the mountain restaurant, the tour continues to the Grauberg cable car mountain station, the highest point of the route. Here begins a fast descent on the route of the ski slope. Be careful: deep water gullies appear again and again. At the Punt Desch bridge, you reach the Runca Trail and follow it downhill to the entrance to the village of Flims. The tour then rides along the signposted bike route back to Laax Murschetg.

Arrived on Friday afternoon and did this lap to warm up.

The ascent is done quite quickly with the e-bike.

The Segnestrail is a little more challenging, but the Runcatrail is too artificial for my taste.

If you like marble runs like this, this is definitely the right place for you.

Wonderful, but sometimes very challenging trail tour!
The ascent from Laax or Flims to Nagens is very demanding and we recommend taking the gondola lift or the local bus. The part after the Grauberg down to Startgels is partly in rough terrain, but except for a few places it is also fun to ride. The trail is not suitable for trail beginners! At the bottom it is a flowing route with jumps and berms, all of which are well maintained. Highly recommended!

It's a cool tour, I rode it on October 1st. The ascent is long, but it's a good training session. If you want to save this you can take the train from Flims to Nagens. From the Grauberg mountain station, a short section had to be ridden on the hiking trail due to roadworks. It would have been a great trail, but there were a lot of hikers on the way. Below the construction site was a very technical trail to traverse to the Segnes hut. The Segnes Trail has been starting from there since last summer. Which then rides directly to the start of the Runca Trail.
PS: The Sagnes Trail in the upper section is more challenging than the Runca Trail and certainly not for beginners.
