Crap Masegn | Ride MTB

Crap Masegn

The Crap Masegn is located above the Crap Sogn Gion, which you can reach on this tour with the mountain railroad from Laax. The long and varied singletrail descent rides all the way to Flims and includes the entire Nagens trail as well as the lowest part of the Runca trail.

Description

Take the mountain railroad from Laax Murschetg to Crap Sogn Gion and start the ascent of around 300 meters in altitude on short, steep gravel roads to the Crap Masegn mountain station, the highest point of the tour. The panorama ranges from Tödi, Bifertenstock and Brigelserhörner in the west to the Bernina group in the south if the views are good. If you tackle the tour without the support of the mountain railroads, follow the road via Falera up to Crap Sogn Gion. From the Crap Masegn station, a singletrail leads along the ridge towards Fuorcla da Sagogn, initially downhill, before the bike is pushed a few meters on the short counter-climb around Crap Masegn. The following trail past the Camona Vorab is easy to ride, but requires your full attention time and again. After a short stretch of alpine road, you reach the Nagens Trail, which is the highlight of the long descent, leading first over open meadows and then mostly over forest floor and is a lot of fun to ride. The Runca Trail continues from Runcahöhe to Flims, and the starting point at Laax Murschetg is then reached via Prau la Selva and Staderas on gravel paths.

The stretch between Camona Vorab and the ugly Bleckhütte Pt 2224 is a real pain to push. Next time I would bypass this part and take the SwitzerlandMobility route 248 to Alp Mughels, you only miss out on the upper part of the marble run.
The rest of the descent is great.

We rode the tour on e-bikes and were absolutely thrilled with the different trail conditions and the great trails. Simply thumbs up👍

I rode the tour today - really great tour!

The landscape is magnificent, the trails are mega, peppered with more challenging sections.

There are a few small uphill sections.

All in all, highly recommended if you don't just want to ride the usual trails.
