The Eiger Bike Challenge, which also served as the third round of the Bike Marathon Classics, ended as expected. In the men’s race, Martin Fanger triumphed for the third time, thereby taking the lead in the Classics series. Similarly, in the women’s race, Alessia Nay won for the second time and also took the lead in the Classics series.

Monique Halter, the former U19 World Champion and U23 European Champion, has signed her first professional contract with the Swiss team Thömus maxon. The 22-year-old from Appenzell has signed a contract effective immediately through the end of 2028, making her the first athlete to progress through the entire Thömus Akros Youngstars youth development program all the way to the Thömus maxon professional team.

More than 700 mountain bikers from 20 countries made for an impressive turnout at the 31st edition of the Ischgl Ironbike. In one of Europe’s toughest mountain bike marathon races, Italian serial winner Claudia Peretti and Chilean Sebastian Gesche claimed victory on Saturday in the Extreme Distance category.
