The dimensions of pump track riding are taking on unimagined dimensions in Zurich. The City of Zurich's sports department has taken a liking to the track and has officially sent school classes on the circuit for the first time. The pump track was initially designed for local mountain bikers, but now it is suddenly being used to promote young talent. The pump track on the Zürichberg provides children with a fun and uncomplicated introduction to mountain biking. Quite a few of them are likely to take a liking to the sport in this way and remain loyal to it.

Pete Stutz and Fabian Vollrath introduced the youngsters from the second and third secondary school to pump track riding in two double lessons. The initial fear and skepticism quickly turned into great enthusiasm over the course of the lesson, turning the sports lesson into a successful change of pace. "The support was great, I didn't actually have to do much except ride along. The students were given a great introduction to the track. I would definitely recommend it," said sports teacher Sebastian Zigerli about the innovative lesson.

I hope that the sport of mountain biking will be widely imitated.
