According to Mondraker, the Zendit is the result of eleven years of e-MTB development. It’s designed for anyone who wants to push boundaries and go “all-in.” That’s why Mondraker has equipped it with the most powerful e-MTB drive currently available, the Avinox M2S, which delivers over 150 Newton-meters of torque and 1,500 watts of maximum assistance. The Zendit’s kinematics use the same virtual pivot point as Mondraker’s Summum downhill bike.

This mullet bike features 170 millimeters of front travel and 165 millimeters of rear travel. It’s available in two colors, five sizes, and three trim levels.

The bike in action

Thanks to the upright riding position, the ride is relaxed. In turbo mode, it feels like you reach 25 km/h in just two crank revolutions. Yes, the new Avinox motor has plenty of power under the hood. The assistance is well-modulated and never feels harsh or too powerful, despite the high wattage. Only near the 25-km/h limit does the drive feel a bit sluggish, as if it doesn’t want to be slowed down. The motor’s power is especially evident when shifting under load—it practically forces the gears into place, which will cause significant wear on the drivetrain over time.

Thanks to the strong assistance, gravel and asphalt climbs are a breeze and quickly conquered. Anyone tackling uphill sections on singletrack will be constantly amazed. Steep climbs that would require you to practically crawl on all fours on foot are practically shot up by the Zendit. But to ensure this doesn’t end in disaster, you’ll need good riding technique and plenty of arm strength to tame this monster. For a bike with so much travel, the Mondraker climbs really well and always offers optimal traction. Even in turbo mode and on gravel, the rear wheel spins only minimally—the sensors are well-calibrated. Despite its very long wheelbase, the e-MTB climbs tight switchbacks surprisingly well, and its handling is exemplary.

This is also evident on the descent. The front end shines with good agility, no matter how fast you’re going. When the terrain gets technically challenging and steep, you can handle it with ease: the standing position is optimal and the Zendit is well-balanced. The rear suspension offers high end progression and causes slight brake hop during very hard braking.

Conclusion

The excellent geometry and powerful Avinox motor tempt you to ride at full throttle all the time. However, it’s important to take enough time to set up the suspension—it doesn’t come together as quickly as with other bikes. The Mondraker Zendit is one of those bikes that’s the most fun on challenging trails. Whether climbing forest trails or descending through the bike park, it’s no problem. But the real fun comes on rough singletrack. “Send it” with the Zendit? Not really—that’s simply more fun on lightweight bikes without a motor.
